Write it out

I have seen a lot of people join in on this and decided to do it also. I thought it would be fun to let people see how I write. I do write in cursive but I decided to just use my print.

There are 8 questions and you hand-write your answers out instead of typing them so that everyone can see what your handwriting looks like.

Here are the questions:
1. What's your name / blogger name?
2. What's your blog's URL?
3. Write "The quick fox jumps over the lazy dog."
4. Favorite quote?
5. Your favorite song?
6. Your favorite band / singers?
7. Anything else you want to say?
8. Tag 3 - 5 other people.

Here is mine.

P.S. When I say anything I mean any song by Katy Perry. Not a song called Anything lol.

Re-doing my Blog Deisgn

I got tired of my current blog design so I decided to re-do it. I am slowly in the process of changing all design items on my blog. So far I have changed my button, signature, and post divider. I also am going to and make my own background and maybe my own header. I apologize that it is messy until I finish.

New signature

I decided to make a new signature  for my blog. I liked the old one but I really like this one also. I may also re-do my header and button at some point. I also wish I know how to make top links. What do you think of my new signature? Also what do you think of the rest of my blog design? All was made by me except for the the header, post divider, and background.

Let’s Play What is inside my purse

I've seen this on a couple of blogs and thought it was a really cute idea.

The Bag: Giraffe print from local fair.
I am really into animal prints
The contents:
(minus the women items)

1. My wallet from New York & Company

2. My gum, I always have to have gum on hand.

3. Make up: mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, brushes, and foundation.

4. Hair pins, pony tails, and my iPod Touch headphones.

5. lip gloss, lip stick, and my inhaler.

6. Keys.

7. 2010 calender that I need to throw away.

Yummy Baked Chicken

So I love chicken, I could eat it all week long really. I do like fried chicken but not all the time because of how unhealthy it is. So I love to make baked chicken, it is more healthy then fried chicken and more juicy then grilled chicken. My use to make baked chicken all the time when I was little. Since I no longer live at home I found a yummy baked chicken recipe for myself to use. I then decided to share the recipe with everyone who reads my blog. Now the recipe that I used calls for all pieces of chicken but I only use legs. I love dark meat but my boyfriend likes white meat. So tonight I am making him chicken breasts and me legs. This is a really easy recipe even for beginners in the kitchen.

Baked Chicken: the items I used

Ingredients:
- 1 package chicken drumsticks (or whatever part of the chicken you like)
- Olive Oil
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- Cooking Spray

I also used cooking spray in my pan first to make sure the chicken did not stick.
Directions:
preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

Rinse chicken pieces in water and pat dry with paper towels.

Spray your pan with cooking spray if you need to.

Coat the bottom of a roasting pan with olive oil.

Rub some olive oil over all of the chicken pieces in the roasting pan.

Sprinkle both sides of the chicken pieces with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Arrange the pieces skin-side up in the roasting pan.

Cook for 30 minutes at 400°F. Then lower the heat to 350°F and cook for 10-30 minutes more.

Cook until juices run clear (not pink) when poked with a sharp knife or the internal temperature of the chicken legs above 160 degrees F. If your chicken pieces aren't browning to your satisfaction, you can put them under the broiler for the last 5 minutes of cooking, until browned sufficiently.

Remove roasting pan from oven. Remove chicken from roasting pan to a serving plate. Tent with aluminum foil and let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes:
- I use only one of the small packages of legs because I am the only one who likes them.
- It takes over 40 minutes for mine to get about 165 degrees F. So make sure you start it early to have your sides done at the same time.
- I make sure my legs get to at least 165 degrees before I pull them out of the oven.
- You can make whatever kind of sides you like with this.
- You can also make gravy if you want to but I do not so I am not adding the directions for making it to my recipe.
- If you have any questions email me at hazeleyedgirl24@gmail.com

I found this recipe at {Simply Recipes}

All pictures were taken by me.

Valentine's Day came and went

I wanted to share with you all what we did on Valentine's Day 2011. I already told you about waking up, Tony giving me my presents, and then going for a walk. After we got back I made myself two fried eggs for breakfast. I decided to cook them together and funny enough they formed a heart shape. I really should have taken a picture of it. After eating breakfast I just hung out for a little bit. Did two blog posts and painted my nails. The nail painting did not go too well, because they chipped after I took a shower.

I decided to dry my hair and up them up in my new big hot rollers. Ugh, it was a big mistake, since they don't work well. They did not curl my hair much or give it volume. Oh and they made a weird line in my hair at the top of my head. I had to re-curl it with my curling iron. I should have just used my small hot roller pack and my sponge rollers. I did my make up while my head was full of hot rollers so it was really heavy. My boyfriend said I looked like a old lady with the hot rollers in my hair.

Nice thing to say on Valentine's Day. After I was done with my make up and hair I got dressed. I wore a new red sweater from Old Navy, a white under shirt with lace from AE, my favorite skinny jeans from Old Navy, and my cute Leopard print flats. Since it was raining I put on my favorite scarf from AE and grabbed my pea coat from Old Navy. We headed to Chico which is only about 19 miles away from my house. We went out to dinner at Logan's Roadhouse which our favorite restaurant. We didn't even have to wait for a table. The food was great as it always is and as usually I could not finish it all. With our leftovers in hand, we headed out to the car.

We missed the closest movie time so we had to wait until 9:05 pm to see Just Go With It. Since we had almost two hours to wait we headed to Starbucks by the movie theater. We got a Carmel Frappuccino to share and a red velvet cupcake to share also. It was very very good and had cream cheese frosting. I love cream cheese.

After we finished them both we headed over to the movie theater which is in the same plaza. Since it was still early we bought our tickets and then playing games in their new video game arcade. I got first on a racing game(which I normally suck on) and Tony beat the high score on Pacman.

We also played big buck hunter (which I sucked at) and a Military type shooting game (which I was awesome at). Then we noticed our movie was now seating and headed in. It was very funny and sweat. One of the best Adam Sandler movie ever and I love that Jennifer Aniston was in it. After the movie was over we headed home and went to bed. How was your Valentine's Day?

Here are some more pictures from the night.

Our Love Story

Our Love story starts about five years ago but, lets back up a little. All great love stories usually start out with the story of how you came to find this great love or your journey to how it you moved on after a broken heart. When I think of my story of how I met and fell in love with Tony, I like to think of the song Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts.

You see in 2005 I was graduating from high school and was in a serious relationship. Sure it was just a high school relationship but we had planned to stay together after high school. He was my high school sweetheart and that summer he was leaving to join the Navy. I knew it would be hard but I really thought it would work out in the end.

We had plans to get married and then down the road have kid, but the universe has other plans for us. I started my freshmen year of college an hour away from my hometown. So I lived in the dorms alone and had to make new friends. I would get to talk D only when he was aloud to call and he would also send me letters. I would send him many letters from summer until fall of that year. Once I started college things between us began to get rough.

We had our one year anniversary in September and since he was away at boot camp I only got a message on Myspace. Then things started getting rocky by October. He had called me and asked to take a break. I found out later that the break was only for he could sleep with other girls without feeling guilty. Then in November right before my birthday he broke up with me out of the blue. I then found out some things about him.

Like he was in love with his best friend’s girlfriend for over year. It made me wonder if he ever really loved me. By December we were broken up and he was already dating that best friend’s now ex girlfriend. The best friend came over and collected items of his from my parents house because D was still away until Christmas. The hardest part was this girl was my friend. She helped me get through the tough times and then I found out he was dating her.

I dated a couple of times that spring but nothing lasted more then a couple of weeks. Really I was heart broken but I knew I would find someone better. Then in May I found out they were getting married. It hit me really hard because they had just began dating and we had only broken up six months earlier. I went on a couple of first dates that late spring but that was it.

Then in June when I was on Myspace one day I got an add request and message from a guy. I had met a couple of guys on Myspace before so I wasn’t really scared or anything. We ended up talking first via Myspace messages. Then we had a plan to meet and go on a date. I decided not to tell my mom how I had really met him because I was afraid of her getting angry with me.

On June 14, 2006, Tony came over to my house to pick me up. He brought me roses (I can’t remember what color) and then led me to his car. It was an old 80’s mustang. It was gray and the paint was peeling, it also did not have AC. We drove to Anderson, Ca and went to the Shasta County Fair. He won me a green elephant and named him bob. We then ate lunch and did a little shopping. We both do not like fair rides so it was perfect.

Afterward we went to the near by movie theater and saw the movie The Break Up. It was a funny choice to see on a first date but I loved it and we still have our movie tickets. Then we headed to Red Bluff, Ca and went to The Italian Cottage for dinner. It was sweet first date and definitely the best one ever. Then two days later one June 16, 2006, we officially became a couple.

On July 8, 2006, he attended my cousin’s wedding with me and when I became sick afterward he brought me beautiful daises. I was afraid of how some people in my family would take me meeting him on Myspace so I use to tell people I met him at college.

On February 14, 2007, we shared our first Valentine’s Day together. He came over to my dorm room and surprised me with a dozen red roses and a cute teddy bear. We then went out to dinner at the Olive Garden and he took my back to my dorm room. On our one year Anniversary we went to Six Flags and he got me a beautiful promise ring.

On our second Valentine’s Day together February 14, 2008, we moved in together and have been living together since. This year is the start to our fourth year of living together and I love it. Whenever I have to go away he has a hard time sleeping without me. This June will be our fifth year of dating and I love him more every day. We have had our ups and downs but we always made it through. Hopefully I will have another wonderful story to tell after he proposes to me some day.

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone is having a great Valentine's Day whether you are single or taken. I woke up around 8:25 am this morning to go for a walk with my boyfriend. Before we left Tony gave me my Valentine's gift. It was a TY puppy, because I really want a dog and some chocolates. He also got me roses that he had given me on Saturday. He got me four red roses and one pink rose for the five years we have now been together. I thought it was very sweet. After I opened my present and gave him his card we went on our walk. Today is a very windy and rainy day where I live, so when we got back I was pretty soaked. I had to hang up my sweat pants and sweatshirt for them to dry. Tonight we are going out to dinner and then to see a movie. There are a lot of things I have to do before we go tonight but I wanted to do a new post. I plan on taking my camera with me for I can do a post on what I did tomorrow.

As I already told you I have to postpone my Giveaway until I can buy something for it. I will make a post when I will start it. Sorry everyone, I was really hoping to pick something cute for you guys. But, because of the double charge to my debit card I have to wait. Again I am really sorry. I was looking forward to doing my first Giveaway.

All you Need is LOVE Challenge Day 8

Today's topic is: Whether in love or out, on Valentine's Day I {LOVE} to . . .

I am in love and we love to spend the day together if we can. Then on Valentine's night we usually go out to a dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and then go see a movie. Last year we saw Valentine's Day on Valentine's Day. This year we are most likely going to see Just Go With It. I wanted to see The Roommate but my boyfriend did not want to. We also plan on going to Starbucks and sharing a Valentine's Day cupcake. I also love to sometimes make Valentine's Day goodies.
